Higlight Spots To Explore:
Panglao Beach
Panglao Beaches is where most tourists go .Bohol is gifted with this white sand beach similar to Boracay just less touristic but a wonderful place to stay. Series of resorts are found so plenty of accommodations to choose from depending on your preference. Alona Beach is theonly place in Panglao accessible to banks, atm machines, plane ticketing office, money changer etc.
Tarsiers
Tarsiers sanctuary is one reason why Bohol is popular because of this exotic specie .It was my first time to see it and they’re cute with huge eyes that makes them more attractive.
Man-made Forest
On our way Chocolate Hills, we passed by this kind of forest. It’s a 2km mahogany forest over nicely designed. The thick green leaves and brown long branches produces a canopy and cool breeze on the road.
Hinagdanan Cave
is located in Dauis, Bohol .Its just 7mins.ride
from Tagbilaran ,It has a an alluring pond inside
where you can swim with your bathing suit
but I heard that its not safe due karst pollutants
present in the water. It has stone sculptures
that gives a picture mother and a baby. A hole aboveground gives light inside.
Balicasag
Its one of the destinations on the itinerary when you go on Island hopping, you get upclose with the marine sanctuary. You feed different species of fish which is colorful and fantastically beautiful. When you go early in the morning, you can also experience dolphin watching around this are.
Bee Farm
If you want a healthy lifestyle then you should go to this place. They grow their own organic products. The tourguide taught us how to make a lemon grass tea which has calming effect to relieve insomnia or stress as well as diuretic effect etc. They make their own souvenirs as well such as soap, honey bee and other products. Its my first time to taste malunggay
(horse radish) ice cream .The most exciting part was getting up close with the with bees.
But they said it won’t sting. You can gain plenty of knowledge about bee farming in this place.!
Chocolate hills
is an ever majestic beautiful site located in Carmen Bohol. When I was a child, I read a legend that it was caused by 2 giants who are fighting, hitting each other with a palm of mud and if they turn away,it fell on a certain spots and formed hills, hehe. Just crazy story.
Phyton Prony
which is said to be the longest in captivity is about 7 meter as of 2005 and weighted 300 kgs.As a visitor, you can go inside the cage, touch his skin and take photos. When I went there, he was changing his skin and can barely move with his big size. Snake is my greatest fear and there’s no way I will go inside .It eats either 60kgs.whole pig or 2 goats once a month.I bought one of his picture as a souvenir where it swallows the whole goat. An eagle is inside his cage and they’re said to be best friends (weird). There are also few other animals you can find but Prony is the star.
There are more wonderful places visited by tourist such as Loboc River and some other caves.
People in Bohol in general are warm and accommodating. Based on my experience even during my first time, they wont try to take advantage from tourist like overpricing .They would sincerely give right directions when you ask. They have good morals and are sweet too. From among all my travels in Philippines. I think the most genuine Filipinos are found in Bohol City.
